Brief History
Ben Kates started racing in 2009 the week he turned 14-years-old in the B-Mod division. He won his first race at LA Raceway (La Monte, Missouri) the weekend before he turned 15-years-old. After that he started racing all over the United States in the Sport Mod division.

2014 was a stellar year for Kates Motorsports as Ben ended the season with fifteen wins, an impressive thirty-nine top fives and forty-seven top ten finishes. The team will look to continue their momentum into the 2015 season and beyond!

Attending a total of 57 events, Ben Kates recorded seven Top 10 finishes during his 2015 season. With rain cancelling 20 of Kates planned dates, Ben reeled in four Top 5 outings. He also finished in fourteenth in the United States Modified Tour Series (USMTS) Hunt for the Casey's Cup.

Running in only one month of action, Ben Kates posted three Top 10 finishes and two Top 5 outings in only nine attempts. Shortly after taking over the reigns of the #23K Open Wheel Modified, Adam Kates competed in 35 events throughout the 2016 season. With the weather determining the outcome of four of his scheduled events, Adams registered four Top 10 finishes.

Adam was crew chief for his brother ben for his 6 years of racing. Running 5 years in a bmod and one year racing USMTS. They had lots of success together. Ben decided to stop racing at the start of 2016. Adam took over and ran a partial year last year racing 35 nights with 20 of those being the USMTS hunt races. He will tackle the entire USMTS schedule in 2017 and race for rookie of the year.

The 2017 season saw Adam Kates compete in a total of 60 events where he collected five Top-10 outings and one Top-5 finish. Losing eight of his scheduled dates to bad weather, Adam wrapped up the year in fifth in the United States Modified Touring Series Grant Junghans Rookie of the Year standings.

Competing in a total of 50 events during the 2018 season, Adam Kates reeled in one Top-5 finish aboard his River Edge Scrap Management #23 Open Wheel Modified. Losing 13 of his scheduled dates to Mother Nature, Kates posted seven Top-10 outings. He finished ninth in the USMTS Hunt for the Casey's Cup point standings.

The 2019 season saw Adam Kates travel to a total of 41 events behind the wheel of his Rivers Edge Scrap Management No. 23 Modified. With Mother Nature determining the outcome of 17 of his scheduled dates, Kates collected one Top-5 finish and eight Top-10 outings.
