May 22, 2020 - Mother Nature Wins Second Half of Spring Shootout
1Adam Kates was one of 38 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries on hand at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisc.) on Friday night for the two-day Spring Shootout. After falling shy of a transfer spot in his heat with a fifth place finish, Kates grabbed the fifth and final transfer position in his B-Main. Starting the opening night feature in 22nd, Adam dropped two spots in the 40-lapper to place 24th.

Saturday night’s finale fell victim to Mother Nature while Monday’s event at Park Jefferson International Speedway (North Sioux City, S.D.) was postponed to June 15th.

May 15, 2020 - Kates Attends Regular Night of Racing at Mississippi Thunder
1On Friday night Adam Kates made the trip to Mississippi Thunder speedway (Fountain City, Wisc.) getting the car dialed in for the upcoming United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) weekend. Recording a fourth place finish in his heat race, Kates locked into the 16th-starting position for the A-Main. Dropping one spot in the 25-lap affair, Adam logged a 17th place outing.

May 9, 2020 - Early Exit for Kates at Hamilton County Speedway
1Saturday night found Adam Kates in action at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Ia.) powering his Rivers Edge Scrap Management No. 23 USRA Modified. Holding his spot for all 8-laps of his heat, Kates posted a third place finish. Receiving the pole position for the A-Main, Adam was one of 12 cars that failed to finish the 20-lap affair.

May 2, 2020 - Adam Kates Lands Top 5 Finish at 82 Speedway
With the promoters and track officials mandating several precautionary measures to hold the event during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Adam Kates invaded Monarch Motor Speedway (Wichita Falls, Tex.) on Friday evening competing in a field of 23 USRA Modifieds. Coming in second in his heat behind Cole Traugott, Kates locked into the fourth-starting position for the opening night feature. Dropping two spots in the 20-lap affair, Adam posted a sixth place finish. (DrRock's Photography)

1The following night at 82 Speedway (Petty, Texas), Adam scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Max Eddie Thomas, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the A-Main. Passing three cars in the 20-lapper, Kates notched a fourth place finish behind Jason Ingalls, Jason Sartain, and Nathan Smith with Dave Gaggero coming in fifth.
