March 7, 2020 - Kates Attends Texas Spring Nationals at Big O Speedway
1After bad weather wiped out Thursday night’s opener, Adam Kates was one of 39 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries on hand at Big O Speedway (Ennis, Texas) on Friday for the 10th annual Texas Spring Nationals. Recording a sixth place finish in his heat race, Kates transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Sending the Top 5 into the show, Adam logged an 11th-place outing.

On Saturday evening for another $3,000-to-win A-Main, Adam followed up an eighth place finish in his heat with a 12th place finish in his B-Main. Earning a provisional into the show, Kates improved four spots to place 22nd.

March 1, 2020 - Top 10 Finish in USMTS Opener at I-37 Speedway
On Friday evening Adam Kates traveled to I-37 Speedway (Pleasanton, Texas) to kick off the 2020 season with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned Rustler. 1The following night at South Texas Speedway (Corpus Christi, Texas), Kates came in 4th in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Grabbing the 5th and final transfer position, Adam locked into the 21st-starting position for the feature. Improving two spots in the 40-lap affair, Adam Kates logged a 19th place outing.

On Sunday afternoon Kates stopped at Cotton Bowl Speedway (Paige, Texas) for the second annual Cotton Bowl Clash. Falling shy of a transfer spot in his heat with a 3rd place finish, Adam transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. Sending the Top 5 into the show, Kates slipped back to a 10th place finish.
