August 22, 2020 - Adam Kates records a pair of 14th place finishes
1On Thursday evening Adam Kates followed the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) to Dallas County Speedway (Urbana, Mo.) for the second annual Bullring Bash. Improving one spot in his heat race to finish second behind Colson Kirk, Kates locked into the second-starting position for the opening night feature. After leading the opening circuit, Adam was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on lap 19.

The following night at Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Mo.) for the Battle at the Beach, Adam posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Terry Phillips, which positioned him on the pole for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Falling short of a Top-10 finish, Kates faded back to a 14th place outing.

For the eighth annual ARMI Salute to our Veterans on Saturday evening at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Okla.), Kates fell short of a transfer spot in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Coming in second behind Cody Jolly, Adam earned the 18th-starting position for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Adam Kates improved four spots to place 14th.

August 8, 2020 - Kates passes 18 cars in Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout at Wheatland
1Adam Kates visited 81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) on Thursday afternoon piloting his Rivers Edge Scrap Management No. 23 Modified for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned program. After passing three cars in his heat race to place fifth, Kates grabbed the sixth and final transfer spot in his B-Main. With $2,500 on the line in the feature, Adam gained six spots in the 40-lapper to register a 17th place outing.

On Friday afternoon at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kan.) for the 14th annual Summer Fling, Adam came in ninth in his heat before placing 12th in his B-Main. Relying on a provisional into the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Kates marched through the field 11 spots to finish 12th.

For the Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.), Kates would have to rely on a provisional into the finale after coming shy of a transfer spot in his heat and B-Main. Wheeling his way through the field 18 spots, Adam notched an 11th place finish while capturing the FK Rod Ends Hard Charger award.
