August 25, 2018 - Kates Bags Top 5 Finish in Sandy Benson Memorial at Casino Speedway
1Adam Kates returned with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Saturday evening at Park Jefferson Speedway (Jefferson, South Dakota) for the River City Rumble. Jumping up two spots in his heat, Kates recorded a 5th place finish positioning him 13th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top-10, Adam improved four spots in the 35-lapper to place 9th.

The following night at Casino Speedway (Watertown, South Dakota) for the Sandy Benson Memorial, Adam locked his spot into the $4,000-to-win A-Main with an 8-lap heat race victory. Starting in 5th, Kates gained one spot notching a 4th place finish behind Johnny Scott, Dereck Ramirez, and Tyler Peterson with Terry Phillips coming in 5th.

August 18, 2018 - 12th Place Finish in USMTS Action at Salina Highbanks
1After losing Thursday’s program at I-35 Speedway (Winston, Missouri) to Mother Nature, Dereck Ramirez followed the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Friday evening for the 3rd annual Grant Junghans Memorial. In a stout field of 48 cars, Kates registered a 7th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top 9 to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Adam logged a 16th place outing ending his night early.

On Saturday night Kates traveled to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) for the 6th annual Salute to our Veterans. Gaining one spot in his heat, Adam landed a 2nd place finish behind Trevor Latham earning him the 11th-starting position for the A-Main. With $3,000 on the line, Adam Kates dropped one spot in the 35-lapper to place 12th.

August 12, 2018 - Top 10 Finish With USMTS at Mason City Motor Speedway
1Following the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Adam Kates was one of 34 cars signed in at I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Friday for the 4th annual Casey’s General Stores Summersota Nationals. Following an 8th place finish in his heat, Kates fell one spot short of a transfer position in his B-Main with a 6th place finish. Relying on a provisional into the show, Adam improved nine spots to place 15th.

The following night at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) for the Modified Madness, Adam passed four cars in his 8-lap heat recording a 4th place finish. Earning the 5th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Kates dropped six spots logging an 11th place outing.

On Sunday night Kates stopped at Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) for the All-In 77. After coming in 5th in his heat, Adam Held his spot for all 25 laps in the feature to place 10th.

August 4, 2018 - Kates Bags 12th Place Finish in Show-Me Shootout
1Adam Kates returned with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Friday night at Humboldt Speedway for the 13th annual Summer Fling. Holding his spot in his heat, Kates logged a 6th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Falling one spot shy of a transfer position with a 6th place finish, Adam was granted a provisional into the opening night feature. Rolling off 23rd, Adam Kates gained one spot to place 22nd.

On Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout, Kates came up short of a transfer position in his heat with a 5th place finish. Transferring into the B-Main, Adam scored a 4th place finish positioning him 20th on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Coming two spots shy of a Top-10 finish, Adam Kates advanced through the field eight positions in the 40-lapper reeling in a 12th place finish.
