| April 20th, 2017 - Adam Kates Follows USMTS to Atchison County Raceway |
 Back with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Adam Kates visited Atchison County Raceway (Atchison, Kansas) on Thursday for the 2nd annual Cage Match. Registering a 3rd place finish in his 12-lap heat, Adam earned the 11th-starting spot for the opening night feature. With $3,000 on the line, Kates slipped back to a 21st place outing.
 The following night with 26 cars signed in at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) for the 6th annual Rumble on the River, Kates logged a 8th place finish in his heat race sending him into the B-Main. Losing one spot in the 10-lap consolation event, Adam recorded an 8th place finish positioning him 24th on the starting grid for the feature. Making the fourth stop of the MSD Central Region presented by Summit Racing, Adam was one of 30 cars on hand at I-35 Speedway (Winston, Missouri) on Sunday for the Missouri Meltdown. Registering a 4th place finish in his heat, Kates transferred into the B-Main with the pole position. Needing to place in the Top 5 to make the $3000-to-win finale, Adam notched a 4th place spot. Starting in 20th, Kates was an early retiree from the feature after he lost a brake line and a rear tire from hitting debris on the track.
