August 27th, 2016 - Adam Kates Makes 3 of 4 Features With USMTS
1Behind the wheel of the Rivers Edge Scrap Management #23 Open Wheel Modified, Adam Kates began the four-day swing with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) by traveling to Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) on Thursday night for the ninth round of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. With 26 cars signed in, Kates posted a 7th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Losing one position, Adam logged a 7th place outing but earned the 21st-starting position for the feature. Passing four cars in the 32-lap opening night A-Main, Adam Kates registered a 17th place finish.

On Friday night the Kates Motorsports team made the trip to Rapid Speedway (Rock Rapids, Iowa) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. Following a 7th place finish in his heat, Adam recorded a 10th place finish in his B-Main giving him the 24th-starting spot for the feature. Dropping one spot, Kates retired a 25th place outing.

The following night Adam visited Park Jefferson Speedway (Jefferson, South Dakota) where Kates registered an 8th place finish in his heat race sending him into the consolation event. Placing 9th in the 10-lap B-Main, Adam rolled of 23rd for the 37-lap feature. Moving up one spot, Adam Kates logged a 23rd place outing.

Round 12 of The Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental brought 38 entries to Casino Speedway (Watertown, South Dakota) on Saturday for a chance at the $5,000 top prize. Recording an 8th place finish in his heat, Adam needed a 5th place finish or better in the consolation event to make the show. Starting in 13th, Adam Kates improved four spots but fell short of a transfer spot into the feature.

August 21st, 2016 - Kates Returns with USMTS Over the Weekend
1Battling for The Hunt for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing and Rental, Adam Kates headed to Adams County Speedway (Corning, Iowa) on Thursday night. In a stout field of 39 Open Wheel Modifieds, Kates registered an 8th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a 5th place finish or better to make the $3,000-to-win feature, Adam retired a 10th place outing.

With the weather postponing Friday night’s Grant Junghans Memorial, Adam made his way to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) on Saturday night for round seven of The Hunt. Placing 7th in his heat, Adam transferred into the consolation event for one last shot at the feature. Starting in 11th, Kates logged a 10th place finish bringing an early end to his night.

Wrapping up the three-day weekend, Adam stopped at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) on Sunday night to a field of 42 USMTS Modifieds. Placing 7th in his heat, Kates would need a 6th place finish in his consolation event to make the main event. Battling in the 15-lap B-Main, Adam Kates retired a 12th place outing.

August 13th, 2016 - Adam Kates Follows The Hunt for the Casey's Cup
1After the rain washed out a trio of United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) events, Adam Kates returned on The Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental on Saturday night at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota). Drawing 32 entries, Kates registered a 7th place outing in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 5 into the feature, Adam fell three positions short with a 8th place outing.

On Sunday Adam was one of 34 cars signed in at Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) for the 5th stop for the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. Logging another 7th place finish in his heat, Adam needed a 5th place finish or better in his consolation event to make the $3,000-to-win show. Slipping up three spots in his 10-lap B-Main, Kates retired a 10th place finish.

August 6th, 2016 - Kates Begins The USMTS Hunt at Valley Speedway
1Competing in the opening night of the United States Modified Tour Series (USMTS) The Hunt powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, Adam Kates invaded Valley Speedway (Grain Valley, Missouri) on Thursday night. In a field of 31 cars, Kates placed 7th in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the top five into the feature, Adam fell back to a 8th place outing.

On Friday night the USMTS followers headed to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) for another $3,000-to-win A-Main. Logging a 6th place finish in his heat, Adam transferred into the B-Main. Sending the top five into the main event, Kates recorded a 13th place outing.

For the third stop of the USMTS The Hunt, Adam was one of 45 cars signed in at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) on Saturday night for the 7th Annual Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout. Placing 7th in his heat, Adam transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the feature. Needing a 6th place finish or better to make the show, Adam Kates fell back to a 11th place finish.
